Dreaming

Updated: Jan 28, 2021

Night dreams occur in an unconcious state of mind when a series of thoughts, images, sensations and emotions flood your mind without intent. Many times night dreams will slip back into the deep subconcious, too far to recollect. However, daydreams are intentional and may linger for a life-time. Like that so-called dream job, business venture or that perfect mate. However, there are some bright ideas that were never meant to replace true purpose, and then there are those who are destined for a dream come true.

As a dreamer, I dream of a place that I can call my own. Its welcoming doors open wide and engulf the customer like a warm embrace. The smell of fresh coffee and danishes fill the room, saturating the senses and teasing the tastebuds like a french kiss. Before their next step their eyes would find a point of artistic captivation. Their body would sway to soothing music and a dance would tickle their toes to tapping. I dream of a place filled with inspiration, encouragement, education, awareness, laughter, compassion, loveliness, cleanliness, rest, peace and friendship -- Offering a safe place for Christian expression.

As the years passed by through aging eyes my dream began to blur. And like a butterfly captured in the cup of my hands, I slowly opened to release it back into the wild blue yonder. Funny thing is, it didn't fly away. "Why are you here butterfly," I asked. "Why do you haunt my soul?" The message was clear, "The Word of God will never lead you astray. Listen to Godly advice. Hear the preached word. And obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit."

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philipians 4:8
